Leslie Richards Considering Running for Congress in PA-6
PoliticsPA.com is reporting that Lafayette Hill resident Leslie Richards is considering running for Congress in PA-6. Richards is a former Whitemarsh Township Supervisors and is currently a Montgomery County Commissioner. PoliticsPA.com’s story states:
We have spoken with Leslie along with several other people in the district, including Michael Parrish,” DCCC Spokesman Marc Brumer told PoliticsPA. The DCCC has not yet decided which candidate they will be supporting and are in the early stages of talking to several individuals in the district.
The story goes on to quote Richards confirming her interest:
This has all come about in the last couple days,” Richards said. “I do love my current job but I am seriously considering it.
Lafayette Hill is not within the PA-6, so she would have to eventually move. The interesting thing is that the current front runner on the Democratic Party side for Congress in PA-13, which Lafayette Hill does fall in, is Marjorie Margolies who at least started her race living outside PA-13 (we couldn’t confirm whether she had moved yet). Pennsylvania law allows candidates to live outside the district, but you have to live there 30 days prior to the actual election.
